Welcome to Stockbridge! What a beautiful place to live. Stockbridge, WI is parked on the shores of Lake Winnebago in the east-central portion of the state. Stockbridge is the sturgeon fishing capital of the world and one of the only remaining townships in this area without Smart Growth zoning. This means you are free to do with your property as you wish!
Stockbridge is a VERY strong area for small and home business. We make our living that way and so do many of our neighbors in the miles surrounding our home. The 4-H program is very strong here, as well as church youth groups in nearby Chilton. Buses for three different school systems pass by our home and many families home-school. This is a great place to raise a family!
Nearby are Ledge-View State Park with a huge nature center, festivals in the fall, walking trails and caves to explore, and High-Cliff State Park, sporting a high-class golf course and country club, fishing and horse trails. Feel free to ride your much loved equine anywhere you want. Lots of people have horses here and there is a world-class Morgan farm just around the corner.
Don't have your own business? Not a problem. Stockbridge is an ideal area for living in the secluded countryside yet still commuting to work in the city. There are plenty of jobs within a half hour or less drive from here. We are 25 minutes from east Appleton, 40 minutes from Neenah/Menasha, one hour from OshKosh, 45 minutes from south Green Bay (De Pere), 45 minutes from Manitowoc, 35 minutes from east Fond-U-Lac, and 1 1/2 hours from north Milwaukee or north Madison. Although not ideal, a scant 4 hours will put you in south Chicago. Working in the city while living here is definitely do-able!
What else makes this place great? The privacy. There are no houses across the street or behind and likely never will be, and only one neighbor to the side. Your view of their home is mostly blocked by line fence trees. They are very quiet, very clean and bother no one.
